Beyond Barcode Scanning
Most delivery route apps have barcode scanners. Point at a barcode, beep, done. But what happens when the barcode is damaged? Smudged? Covered by tape? You're stuck typing the address manually.
FlexMesh is different. Our AI doesn't just read barcodes — it reads the entire shipping label.
How AI Waybill Scanning Works
FlexMesh uses advanced OCR (Optical Character Recognition) powered by machine learning to extract information from any shipping label:
- Tracking Number — Automatically extracted from the label
- Recipient Address — Street, city, postal code, all captured
- Recipient Name — Pulled from the label when available
The AI recognizes label formats from all major carriers: FedEx, UPS, Purolator, Canada Post, Amazon, and more. It doesn't matter if the label is printed, handwritten, or a mix of both.
Three Ways to Scan
1. Camera Scan
Open the app, point your camera at the waybill, and tap scan. The AI processes the image in seconds and extracts all the information automatically. No need to align the barcode perfectly — just get the label in frame.
2. Import from Photo Album
Already took a photo of the waybill earlier? Maybe your dispatcher sent you images of the packages? Select photos from your album and FlexMesh will scan them all. Perfect for batch processing at the warehouse.
3. Manual Input
No waybill at all? Just type the address directly. FlexMesh doesn't force you into one workflow.
What Makes This Different
Traditional barcode scanners read a string of numbers. That's it. If the barcode fails, you have nothing.
FlexMesh AI reads everything visible on the label:
- If the barcode is damaged, we still get the tracking number from the printed text
- If the address barcode fails, we read the human-readable address
- If it's a handwritten label, we can still extract the destination
This redundancy means fewer failed scans and less manual typing for you.
Scan Quality and Editing
AI isn't perfect — sometimes a character gets misread. That's why FlexMesh lets you edit any scanned information before adding it to your route.
Scanned address shows "123 Main St" but it's actually "128 Main St"? Tap it, fix it, move on. The AI gets you 95% of the way there; you handle the edge cases.
Speed and Efficiency
In our testing, AI scanning saves drivers an average of 2-3 seconds per package compared to manual entry. Multiply that by 150 packages a day, and you're saving 5-7 minutes just on data entry.
More importantly, it reduces errors. Mistyped addresses mean failed deliveries, wasted time, and frustrated customers. AI scanning gets it right the first time.
Privacy First
Your scanned waybill data stays on your device. FlexMesh processes the image locally and extracts the information without sending your package details to external servers. We use AI to help you work faster, not to collect your delivery data.
Works With Every Carrier
Whether you're delivering for FedEx, UPS, Amazon, Purolator, Canada Post, or running your own delivery business — FlexMesh AI scanning works. We don't care about carrier logos or proprietary formats. If there's text on the label, we can read it.
